As revealed by BuzzFeed, Lucy Liu will be dipping her toe into Netflix’s corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe by directing the premiere episode of the second season of Marvel’s Luke Cage. Liu doesn’t have a very much directing experience beyond four episodes of her Sherlock Holmes series Elementary, but executive producer Jeph Loeb seems to think very highly of her. “When you’re dealing with a bulletproof man,” Loeb said, “it helps if you have a bulletproof director.” In her own statement, Liu said that it’s “a thrill” to work with “two industry titans” like Marvel and Netflix.
