Macklemore announces headlining Free Palestine fundraising tour

Macklemore has upgraded his status, going from booted Ed Sheeran opening act to headliner of his own Free Palestine Tour. Macklemore announced the fundraising tour on Thursday, consisting of three shows taking place in Dublin on October 26, Paris on October 29, and London on October 30, with US dates to be announced at a later time. “It’s 2026. Being apolitical during a genocide doesn’t work anymore,” Macklemore wrote on Instagram, in an apparent dig at Sheeran, who’s been criticized for his refusal to take a public stance on the ongoing Israel-Palestinian conflict (though he claims he’s “not complicit” and has “personal views” on the matter).

Building on the recent momentum and support surrounding his Pro-Palestine statements, which led to him getting removed from Sheeran’s tour, Macklemore said that he recently reached out to artists who have also used their platforms to publicly stand in solidarity with Palestine. “What happened to me is bigger than one artist or one stage,” he wrote. “When the billionaire class can decide which voices are allowed on stage and which ones are too dangerous to hear, everyone should be paying attention.”
