While there’s always been something inherently robotic and calculated about popular Twitter funnyman Donald Trump’s beloved daughter Ivanka, the above video, in which she explains a new initiative to promote coding and STEM education while her ability to talk like a normal human fails, seems a pointed example. It’s hard to even follow the thread as her competing codes of logic—1) smile, 2) move head in lifelike ways, 3) conceal seething contempt for all sentient life—force her into a jarring, uncanny-valley facsimile of teleprompter speech.
Also, instead of normal text, she dropped in a bunch of code. While this was just a cutesy nod toward the importance of STEM education as a means to maintain America’s technological advantage, it led to some truly nerdy owns.
