May the 4th be with these animals dressed as Star Wars characters

If there’s one thing the internet might possibly love more than Star Wars, it’s adorable animals. We here at The A.V. Club are not immune to the siren call of cute puppies and cats that get caught barking, but we rarely have cause to share them. Not so on Star Wars Day, when the mantle of one of cinema’s most inventive universes gets taken up by just about every website on the planet. It’s the reason ostensibly pop-culture neutral sites—like, say, DogVacay, a pet-sitting service—can offer up a melange of traffic-generating images of animals dressed like Star Wars characters.

And so, for one brief moment, we’d like to take the opportunity to offer some good old-fashioned photos of ridiculously cute animals, dressed up in full Lucasfilm regalia, to celebrate May 4. And yes, we prefer it when the pets are given great names like “Obi-Wan Kennel-Obi.” There are plenty of aggregated images on the internet of this phenomenon already—the official Star Wars site has its own compilation—but some things, like pizza, or Jensen Ackles GIFs, are inexhaustible.
