Michael Richards allegedly dislikes, feels like one of the Jews

Last week, TMZ.com reported that TV funnyman Kramer went on a tirade about Jews after an audience member heckled him at an L.A. comedy club in April. Richards allegedly said, "You fucking Jew. You people are the cause of Jesus dying." Not quite as hilarious as his line about putting a fork up somebody's ass, but clever nonetheless. Richards, who hasn't exactly shown an ability to effectively defend himself, has claimed that he himself is Jewish, though it appears he only feels Jewish.

"Technically, not having been born by blood as Jewish and not formally going into a conversion, it was purely his interpretation of having adopted Judaism as his religion," Rubenstein told The Associated Press on Tuesday. "He told me, `I'm Jewish,' when I asked him.

"He said there were two mentors who raised him and who had a big influence on his life, and they were Jewish. He said, `I agree with the concepts and the religious beliefs of Judaism and I've adopted Judaism as my religion,'" Rubenstein said. "He really thinks of himself as Jewish."

Maybe it's time to fall back on the reliable "I have a Jewish friend" defense.
