Morrissey says Norway massacre is nothing compared to the horrors of fast food
A modern-day Romantic who specializes in an especially florid verse of hatred and casual racism, Morrissey has often used the allotted microphone time when he’s not crooning beautiful songs to say some pretty horrible shit, most of it stemming from his avowed commitment to preaching vegetarianism through shaming all of humanity—certain factions of which, Morrissey believes, don’t even deserve to consider themselves human. Thanks to his tireless haranguing, by now we should all be well aware that “Meat Is Murder.” But did you, in fact, know that meat is actually worse than the massacre of scores of Norwegian teenagers? It’s not as catchy but it’s true—or so said Morrissey during a recent concert in Warsaw, where he introduced his famous anti-carnivore classic by musing, “We all live in a murderous world, as the events in Norway have shown, with 97 dead [sic]. Though that is nothing compared to what happens in McDonald's and Kentucky Fried Shit every day.”
