NBC boots Kings to summer

Despite being one of the most promising new shows on television, the passionate few who watch NBC’s Kings every week—including us!—have not been enough to boost its dismal ratings. Over the course of its now five-week run, the show has been kicked around like redheaded stepchild, originally conceived as a Thursday night midseason replacement before premiering on Sundays and then moved subsequently to Saturday night. Well, it would appear that your seasick DVRs are in for another abrupt scheduling move: According to the Hollywood Reporter, NBC has opted to air the remainder of its contemporary King David drama on Saturdays this summer, starting at 8 p.m. on June 13th and wrapping up on July 25th. In the meantime, NBC will be filling its must-skip-TV Saturday schedule with repeats of Law & Order, Law & Order: SVU, and Not Law & Order: Southland.
