Nicki Minaj to produce and appear in a comedy based on her childhood
Deadline reports that Nicki Minaj is getting in on the autobiographical-series game with a new show on ABC Family. The half-hour single-camera comedy will follow Minaj’s upbringing in Queens, New York in the ’90s. Minaj will executive produce along with Aaron Kaplan (The Mysteries Of Laura, the American Inbetweeners) and Kate Angelo (Will & Grace, The Bernie Mac Show). Angelo will also pen the as-yet-untitled series; her writing credits include Sex Tape, The Back-Up Plan, as well as some episodes of the shows she produced (oh, and Becker).
