Nicolas Cage and Vince Neil brawled on the streets of Las Vegas
The day is finally upon us. Nicolas Cage and Vince Neil, two powerhouses of strange behavior, got into an ugly brawl before a crowd of bemused Las Vegas onlookers yesterday, TMZ reports. According to law enforcement sources, the National Treasure star was inside the Aria Resort & Casino at around 5 PM when a woman approached him for an autograph. The former Mötley Crüe vocalist allegedly came up behind the unknown woman and pulled her to the floor by her hair. That somehow spurred the celebrity altercation, which spilled outside onto the Las Vegas Strip. In the short bit of captured video below, the 52-year-old actor can be heard yelling, “I fucking love you! Stop this shit now!,” while trying to restrain the 55-year-old musician, who appears to be in a state of full must:
Neil was apparently cited with battery, but was never taken to the police station. This the latest in a long string of run-ins with the law for the singer: In 2002, he was arrested for punching a record producer in a Los Angeles night club parking lot, and two years later, an arrest warrant for misdemeanor assault was issued against him after he knocked a sound tech unconscious in Dallas. Most recently, in 2011, he was charged with battery and disorderly conduct after allegedly assaulting an ex-girlfriend. In that same year, Cage was arrested after a fight with his wife in New Orleans and charged with domestic abuse, disturbing the peace and public intoxication, though the charges were later dropped.
According to ABC News, Neil has received a battery summons and is scheduled to appear in court on June 17.
