Noel Gallagher donates “Don’t Look Back In Anger” royalties to Manchester victims

Ever since the May 22 bombing outside of an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, the Oasis song “Don’t Look Back In Anger” has basically become an anthem for people. Chris Martin from Coldplay sang it at Grande’s One Love Manchester benefit concert over the weekend, shortly before Oasis’ own Liam Gallagher made a surprise appearance. It was an uplifting and positive moment in a concert full of them, so Gallagher naturally felt the need to go on Twitter and talk shit about his brother for missing the benefit show:

The Gallaghers are from Manchester, so his frustration is understandable, but it turns out that Noel Gallagher may not be as much of a sad fuck as Liam thinks he is. As reported by NME, Radio X host Gordon Smart revealed that Noel Gallagher has actually been donating his royalties from “Don’t Look Back In Anger” to the families of the Manchester bombing victims since as he heard that the song had begun popping up during vigils. Smart adds that he started doing this “before any gig was mentioned,” suggesting that Noel Gallagher wanted to keep it quiet and not make any of this about himself.

Liam Gallagher hasn’t tweeted anything since this news came out, but maybe this will be the thing that finally convinces these two guys to start getting along—or at least to stop constantly criticizing each other.
