November 2025 TV preview: Stranger Things, Vince Gilligan's return, and Rachel Sennott

2025 is almost over and so is Netflix’s mammoth sci-fi drama Stranger Things, which begins its much-anticipated final chapter in November. Next month also promises some big reunions, with Vince Gilligan and Rhea Seehorn teaming up again for Apple TV+’s Pluribus and Homeland‘s Howard Gordon and Claire Danes joining forces for The Beast In Me, which co-stars Matthew Rhys. Plus, Rachel Sennott’s HBO comedy I Love LA debuts, Ryan Murphy drops legal thriller with Kim Kardashian and Niecy Nash, and NBC unveils its latest mockumentary. Meanwhile, Succession‘s Sarah Snook and Matthew Macfadyen lead new shows. Here is The A.V. Club‘s guide to what to watch on TV in November.

I Love LA (HBO, November 2)

This HBO comedy, which was created and co-written by star Rachel Sennott, follows a group of youngish pals (played by Odessa A’zion, English Teacher‘s Jordan Firstman, True Whitaker, and Josh Hutcherson) as they navigate dating and their professional lives in the show’s titular city. The trailer gives off some vibes of other L.A.-set series from the last decade, like You’re The Worst and Love, which is promising news—as is Firstman’s character donning a Jumbo’s Clown Room hat and delivering lines like “What? Never seen a naked gay guy in Eagle Rock before? Grow up!” [Tim Lowery]

Crutch (Paramount+, November 3)

CBS’s The Neighborhood might be wrapping up after its eighth season, but the show leaves a spin-off in its wake centered on Calvin’s (Cedric The Entertainer) cousin. Tracy Morgan leads Crutch as a brash yet beloved shop owner and empty nester in Harlem who’s thrown for a loop when his grown-up son (who quit his corporate-lawyer gig) and daughter (whose marriage fell apart) move back home. All’s Fair (Hulu, November 4)

Ryan Murphy’s mission to have the most shows on TV rages on with All’s Fair, which (like Grotesquerie) he co-created with Jon Rabin Baitz and Jon Baken. This pulpy legal drama relies on quite an ensemble, which includes Niecy Nash, Glenn Close, Teyana Taylor, Naomi Watts, and Kim Kardashian. They all play top-notch divorce attorneys here who open their own law firm after leaving their male-dominated company, taking on wealthy clients with plenty of scandalous secrets. Regular Murphy player Sarah Paulson co-stars as the nemesis of Kardashian’s character. [Saloni Gajjar]

All Her Fault (Peacock, November 6)

In her first post-Succession lead TV role, Sarah Snook switches to a twisty suburban thriller based on Andrea Mara’s 2021 novel. The Emmy-winner plays Marissa, who goes to pick up her son from his first playdate. However, a different woman answers the door who has no idea who or where said kid is. This kicks off a police investigation into a possible kidnapping, which may have been at the hands of someone close to Marissa. Jake Lacy, Abby Elliott, Jay Ellis, and Dakota Fanning co-star. Death By Lightning (Netflix, November 6)

This four-part historical series pulls back the curtain on James Garfield (Michael Shannon) and his time as the twentieth President Of The United States, which lasted only a few months before he was assassinated by one of his admirers, Charles Guiteau (Matthew Macfadyen). Death By Lightning, which is based on Candice Millard’s book, was created by Bad Education‘s Mike Makowsky, counts D.B. Weiss and David Benioff as executive producers, and features turns by Betty Gilpin (as the First Lady) and Nick Offerman (as VP Chester A. Arthur).  [Saloni Gajjar]

Pluribus (Apple TV, November 7)

Rhea Seehorn and Vince Gilligan (in his first solo TV creation since Breaking Bad) return to Albuquerque for this enigmatically promoted, comedy-spiked sci-fi drama. Suffice it to say, the bar is very high for this one, which centers on Seehorn’s author, whose immunity from a virus puts her in the spotlight and gives American citizens a dash of hope. Karolina Wydra and Carlos Manuel Vesga also star. [Tim Lowery]

Stumble (NBC, November 7)

After bringing us St. Denis Medical last year, NBC adds to its mockumentary lineup with Stumble, which was created by siblings Jeff and Liz Astroff (Shining Vale). Set in the world of competitive cheerleading, the series centers on a coach (played by Jenn Lyon) who gets recruited to work with a junior college squad to help them win a championship. The Beast In Me (Netflix, November 13)

Netflix’s cat-and-mouse thriller has a pretty head-turning pedigree—and, presumably, price tag—with stars Claire Danes and Matthew Rhys; EPs including Jodie Foster and Conan O’Brien; and showrunner Howard Gordon (Homeland). In what sounds like a bloodier and twistier version of The Jinx, the Gabe Rotter-created miniseries details the fallout of Danes’ grieving writer deciding to pen a book on her new neighbor, Rhys’ real-estate tycoon who was accused of being behind his wife’s disappearance. [Tim Lowery]

Malice (Prime Video, November 14)

In this six-episode British thriller from screenwriter James Wood (Decline And Fall), a nanny (portrayed by Jack Whitehall) cozies up to a wealthy family while vacationing in Greece. Upon returning to London, he begins working in the lavish home of Jamie and Nat Tanner (David Duchovny and Carice Van Houten) with one goal in mind: to destroy their dynasty from the inside. Stranger Things season five, part one (Netflix, November 26)

It took a long, long time, but the Duffer Brothers will finally deliver new episodes of their Netflix blockbuster Stranger Things. The installments are split up into three parts, the first of which arrives just before Thanksgiving. Season five moves forward a year after the portal to the rifts opened up in Hawkins. The group seeks to find and kill Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) before he destroys their world, but their plans are foiled when the military arrives to capture Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown). Other plot details are being kept under wraps, but the teaser reveals that the Upside Down has already heavily taken over the town. [Saloni Gajjar]
