Now Grandfathered gets a full season from Fox
Just a day after Fox gave its Rob Lowe/Fred Savage comedy The Grinder a full season, the network has done the same for its other new comedy starring a famous guy: Grandfathered. That comes from The Hollywood Reporter, which says the show has “been a modest performer” so far, which is exactly what you want out of a high-profile TV series. However, like The Grinder, Grandfathered has also improved the network’s ratings from this time slot by 70% over last year, but that’s mostly because Fox was airing that terrible Utopia reality show at this time in 2014.
Grandfathered stars John Stamos as a John Stamos-like character, with Josh Peck as the son he never knew he had and some baby as the grandchild he also never knew he had. Fox says that the show’s fans “are going to love the surprises in store for the rest of the season,” which makes us think that Grandfathered is going to introduce even more secret offspring as it goes on. It’ll be like how there’s always another bad guy with superpowers popping up on The Flash, except they’ll be telling John Stamos he’s their dad instead of telling The Flash that they’re going to punch him or whatever.
