"Paranoid Android," via tons of simultaneous YouTube covers
YouTube can make a mediocre somebody like Bo Burnham famous, but it mostly ensures that other mediocre, less lucky musicians simply contribute to the void. The void is chaos, and from chaos, inevitably, springs order. In YouTube terms, what I mean is that some guy took a crap-load of "Paranoid Android" covers, melded them together so they play over each other simultaneously, and created a soaring version of the already soar-y song that combines multiple voices and instruments. Watching the video, a few things spring to mind: 1) When lots of people play the same song, it sounds a lot like the studio version, and 2) What is it about "Paranoid Android" where everyone plays at the exact same tempo? Is it the wailing? Oh, and 3) There's apparently only one guy out there on YouTube that's mastered the guitar solo. Enjoy this impressive feat of editing:
