Things are about to get weird for Patti Labelle as she signs on for a four-episode stint on the new season of American Horror Story. LaBelle, who last appeared in the sing-spirational drama Mama I Want To Sing, will not sing on American Horror Story: Freak Show, but she will play a “townie” and mother to Gabourey Sidibe, who delves into the undoubtedly credulity-stretching secrets of “Twisty the clown killer.” This is Murphy’s second time casting an iconic female singer after featuring Stevie Nicks on American Horror Story: Coven, leaving him only a Cher away from a VH1 Divas hat trick.
