Yes, really. The Fourth Wall premieres April 21.

Both Buzzfeed and Bon Appétit‘s workplace series flamed out, but People Magazine is attempting to reheat their nachos, as the kids say. “Reality TV has always been huge for People,” the outlet wrote in an announcement today, citing its coverage of popular shows like The Bachelor, Dancing With The Stars, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, and more. Now, the magazine is turning the lens on itself—literally. “Reality cameras are coming inside the People offices to capture the drama behind the scenes as we publish 200 stories a day and cover the most exciting things happening in Hollywood—and the American zeitgeist,” the post continued.

The new show, dubbed The Fourth Wall, will employ a release schedule almost as rigorous as the newsroom it aims to capture. Starting April 21, new episodes will drop thrice weekly on the magazine’s app. It may not be The Kardashians, but at least it will be bingeable.

“It’s a huge deal we’re letting our audience inside our newsroom—and in an unfiltered way,” said Andrea Lavinthal, an executive director at the magazine. “We don’t need to manufacture drama because when you’re covering the biggest news stories every day, in addition to making the news with tent poles like World’s Most Beautiful and Sexiest Man Alive, the action is nonstop at People. And our staff is filled with dynamic, enthusiastic and passionate personalities that were made to be on camera.”

We’ll see in the coming weeks how the presence of these cameras affects People‘s news output, but who knows—if the model works, maybe there will be a Real Writers Of The A.V. Club webseries sometime in the future.
