Debuts this week include the David Crowder Band, a Christian outfit whose Give Us Rest landed at No. 2 with 50,000. While the group—whose sensitive guy balladry sounds like Coldplay at its least grandiose—didn't exactly come from out of nowhere, previously charting at No. 11 with 2009's Church Music, the performance of Rest is still a surprise and heralds the burgeoning re-emergence of Christian rock as a commercial force. (The other debut also sounds like Coldplay: Snow Patrol's Fallen Empires landed at No. 5 with 31,000.)
The rest of the Top 10 albums include: The Black Keys' El Camino (No. 3, 36,000), Drake's Take Care (No. 4, 32,000), Young Jeezy's TM:103 Hustlerz Ambition (No. 6, 24,000), Rihanna's Talk That Talk (No. 7, 22,000), Coldplay's Mylo Xyloto (No. 8, 20,000), Nickelback's Here And Now (No. 9, 19,000), and Now 40 (No. 10, 17,000). By the way, this is the first time in SoundScan history that albums selling less than 20,000 copies landed in the Top 10.
On the digital songs chart, Adele rules again, with "Set Fire To The Rain" coming in at No. 1 with 193,000 downloads. Last week's No. 1, Jason Mraz's "I Won't Give Up," fell to No. 9 with 127,000. The rest of the Top 10 is: Flo Rida's "Good Feeling" (No. 2, 163,000), Tyga's "Rack City" (No. 3, 160,000), LMFAO's "Sexy and I Know It" (No. 4, 156,000), Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa's "Young, Wild And Free" (No. 5, 151,000), Rihanna's "We Found Love" (No. 6, 140,000) David Guetta's "Turn Me On" (No. 7, 137,000), Jay-Z and Kanye West's "Niggas In Paris" (No. 8, 130,000), and Bruno Mars' "It Will Rain" (No. 10, 120,000).
