With the 2011 installment of the Pitchfork Music Festival only a fortnight away, the music website has announced that it’s bringing the festival to Paris in October. It will take place at La Grande Halle de la Villette, “a stunning 19th century glass and metal structure that stands in the center of the Parc de la Villette, the city's largest public cultural park,” says Pitchfork. Sounds even more scenic than Chicago’s palatial park setting.
The plan is to host more than 20 bands and DJs on Oct. 28-29 at the 5,000-capacity venue. Confirmed acts include Bon Iver, Jens Lekman, Wild Beasts, Cut Copy, Kathleen Edwards, and Pantha du Prince, with more announcements to come. Justin Vernon of Bon Iver is also co-curating the festival, with several of his handpicked acts playing on Oct. 29. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased here.
