Lily-Rose Depp will be the bunny to Bill Pullman's Hef in Playmates

Bill Pullman will star as Hugh Hefner, the founder of Playboy magazine, whose relationships with the Playmates were widely known and documented. But the film won’t focus on Hef’s womanizing ways. Instead, it’ll follow a 13-year-old know-it-all named Elle (played by Indiana Elle) who befriends Anna (Depp), a Playmate hoping to earn the coveted title of Playmate of the Month. Their relationship is described as a mutually beneficial friendship, with the two characters helping each other get what they want. It’s a premise that feels a bit unexpected, since Hefner was known for encouraging competition among the women and fostering what former girlfriend and Playmate Holly Madison described as a cult-like environment. 

Nicholson previously detailed her experiences at Playboy Mansion in a 2024 Vanity Fair essay. She wrote that she was a regular visitor from the year she was born, 1990, until she was around 11 years old, and, despite assumptions, she spent more time at the mansion than her famous father.
