Pop Etc manufactures nostalgia in the video for “Please Don’t Forget Me”

For its fourth album, Brooklyn’s Pop Etc decided to ditch labels and do things itself. Having self-released Souvenir on its own, it’s only fitting that the video for “Please Don’t Forget Me” would be the product of an equally simplistic approach. Forgoing big budgets, Pop Etc used some rather endearing home movies and stitched them together into a video that’s as touching as the song is poppy. The video matches the warm, nostalgic vibe of “Please Don’t Forget Me,” as it bounces along in a delightfully ’80s manner, with the kind of grainy video footage that makes it feel like the product of a bygone era.
