Pulp to reunite for shows next year

Whatever the reason—as the band’s website suggests, it could be “a collective mid-life crisis,” “an opportunity to reappraise the past through the prism of the present day,” a chance to see the last truly important pop group the [UK] ever produced,” or just something that’s “about time”—brilliant Brit-poppers Pulp have decided to get back together and play some shows next summer, marking the first time Jarvis Cocker and the original members of the band have shared a stage since 1996. So far, the only announced dates are a headlining appearance at Barcelona’s Primavera Sound Festival on May 27 and July 3 date at London’s Wireless Festival, but this poster image at the group’s Facebook page hints that more shows will follow. It also promises that the band “will be playing songs from all periods of their career. (Yes, that means they’ll be playing your favourites.)”

For Americans, that’s “favorites,” and also, a caution that you probably shouldn’t get your hopes up just yet for a Pulp tour through your town. However, an appearance at Coachella or something like it doesn’t seem beyond the realm of possibility, right?
