Who she is: Quake, a.k.a. Daisy Johnson, a.k.a. Skye
Her power: An Inhuman with the power to manipulate vibrations in the material world, which can manifest in everything from creating earthquakes to sending shockwaves through the air. Recently, she has also turned it into a method of movement, being able to send herself shooting into the air from the force of a vibration.
Her story: Quake began her story on Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. as Skye, a young woman who had spent her life in foster care, and had developed incredible skills as a hacker. She was recruited by S.H.I.E.L.D. and trained to become an agent, but was caught unawares during the events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, when her mentor and romantic interest Grant Ward was revealed to be a Hydra mole. Soon, her real father Calvin Zabo appeared and told her she was actually named Daisy Johnson, but her next big shock came during season two of S.H.I.E.L.D., when the knowledge that she was actually an Inhuman revealed her powers after being exposed to the Terrigen Mist meant to transform those with latent abilities. Needless to say, this threw a wrench into her identity as a normal S.H.I.E.L.D. agent.
She journeyed to the Inhuman sanctuary on Earth called Afterlife, where it was revealed her mother was the leader, but was also attempting to take down S.H.I.E.L.D. After her father killed her mother and was brainwashed to begin life again as a harmless veterinarian (you know, standard life choices), she redoubled her efforts to find Ward, who died and was taken over by Hive, the first Inhuman. After briefly being brainwashed into his service, she helped to take down Hive and his followers, though it cost the life of her latest love, Lincoln Campbell. She abandoned S.H.I.E.L.D. and went on the run, earning the vigilante nickname Quake. However, after teaming up with fellow extralegal justice-seeker Ghost Rider, Daisy was brought back into the fold by new director Jeffrey Mace, who excused her time as a criminal by telling the public it was an undercover S.H.I.E.L.D. operation.
