Rachel Weisz plays a wicked game in this trailer for My Cousin Rachel
Daphne du Maurier’s 1951 novel My Cousin Rachel is a mystery-filled romance, with upper-class British people wondering just how trustworthy other upper-class British people are when one of their own becomes hopelessly infatuated with his cousin, a woman who may or may not have murdered her previous beau. This trailer for Roger Michell’s adaptation of the book leans harder on the romance angle than anything else, but the cover of Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game” and all of the yelling going on make it pretty clear that there’s some heavy stuff going on behind the sweeping vistas and outdoor sex. The film stars Rachel Weisz as the eponymous Rachel, as well as Sam Claflin, Holliday Grainger, and Iain Glen.
My Cousin Rachel will be in theaters on July 14, 2017.
