Reminder: The A.V. Club & The Onion come to L.A. next week
Residents of the sprawling metropolis known as Los Angeles and its surrounding areas: Members of The A.V. Club and The Onion staff are bringing our pasty Midwestern/Northeastern complexions to your sunny climes for a rare joint session of Onion Inc.'s congress at the Echoplex next Thursday.
In attendance will be A.V. Club editor Keith Phipps, Amelie Gillette, associate editor Kyle Ryan, contributors Chris Martins and Jessica Jardine, and Onion editor Joe Randazzo. Joining us will be Reno 911!/The State's Robert Ben Garant (sharing movie moments that made him turn away), Tom Lennon (discussing eight recently "rediscovered" Tennessee Williams plays), comedian and former Onion scribe Megan Ganz, and Dangerbird Records' Division Day. The rest of us will be reading from/talking about our recent books—Inventory and Our Front Pages—and generally overwhelming your senses with multimedia.
So get ready. Doors open at 7:30, the show begins at 8. Tickets will set you back $10. Come out! This is your chance to at last put faces with names and realize, "Wait, I've been calling these dorks hipsters?"
