Richard Price, the bestselling crime author whose screenwriting credits include The Color Of Money, Sea Of Love, and Clockers (based on his own book), is bringing another drama to television. Price has been busy on the small screen in recent years, writing several episodes of The Wire, creating the short-lived NYC 22 for CBS, and the upcoming limited series Criminal Justice for HBO (in which John Turturro is replacing the late James Gandolfini as the show’s lead).
Price’s next stop is Fox, which has bought an as-yet-unnamed series from the writer that it hopes to air next season. The series concerns a young Wall Street banker who gets wrapped up in the District Attorney’s attempt to bring down a criminal organization. Given Price’s past track record, we expect the D.A.’s office, the criminal organization, and Wall Street to each be equally fraught with corruption and peril, with no one knowing who to trust. In other words, they’ve finally found a show with the right tone to follow New Girl.
