Rob Liefeld wants you to know that Deadpool's really packing heat

It’s an understatement to say that Image Comics co-founder and Deadpool co-creator Rob Liefeld isn’t shy about courting controversy—or about sharing wild opinions in his hyperactive cadence. He’s settled quite enthusiastically into his role as comics’ elder-California-Kid version of Kevin Smith. And while it’s doubtful Rob has anything as endearing or thought-provoking as Dogma in his creative chamber, he, like Mallrats-era Smith, can’t seem to help but talk a blue streak about certain superheroes’ genitalia when pressed about it.

Comics news site Popverse recently unearthed a spirited interview with the Youngblood creator on Andrew Parker and Alex Azor’s Escape Pod Podcast in March. The conversation unpacked urbane topics such as the best superhero animated series (correctly, Rob says it’s Batman: The Animated Series) and the best live-action Spider-Man movie (Rob is also correct here: It’s Spider-Man 2), but not before addressing what certainly few people in polite society had been thinking about until Azor broached it: The nature of Wade Wilson’s penis, specifically whether his healing factor has healed any circumcision that might have occurred before his mutant ability kicked into gear. Not missing a beat and true to form, Liefeld went one step further with this off-the-cuff clarification about his favorite creation’s member.

“I just know that Deadpool has a giant cock and it doesn’t matter whether the hood is on there or not,” Liefeld said emphatically. “None of my characters have little cocks! He has a giant cock, okay? He is well-endowed, as he should be. Look, it just doesn’t matter to me.”

Indeed! Liefeld’s lively clarification can be found in the video below at around the 18:45 mark.
