Jimmy Tatro joins already overstuffed Scream 7 cast

How many actors does it take to replace Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega? It sounds like the setup to some sort of punchline, but there wasn’t anything funny about Barrera’s overt firing from the Scream franchise for speaking out about Palestine in 2023. (Ortega departed shortly after over some sort of salary dispute.) It is, however, a question we can answer: a whole damn lot of them, apparently. Scream 7 casting updates have been rolling out as quickly as Knives Out threequel Wake Up Dead Man‘s last year—and we just got two more.

Per Deadline, both Jimmy Tatro and Michelle Randolph have joined the cast of the beleaguered followup. Seriously, how many people is Ghostface going to have to (or, in their case, get to) kill in this thing? Tatro’s and Randolph’s roles have not yet been announced, so either could potentially be behind the mask. Tatro is known for previous titles like American Vandal, The Real Bros Of Simi Valley, Home Economics, and Theater Camp, while Randolph was a Taylor Sheridan-verse find. She recently starred in both Landman and 1923

Tatro and Randolph join a truly baffling cast containing a whole lot of dead former Scream characters. Anchored by prodigal daughter Neve Campbell (who must have convinced the franchise to pay her what she was worth), the ensemble also contains Matthew Lillard and Scott Foley, who killed and died in Scream and Scream 3 respectively. Perhaps they’re returning for some sort of dream or nightmare sequence. Other returning Screamiverse cast members include David Arquette (the equally dead Dewey Riley), Courteney Cox (Gale Weathers), Mason Gooding (Chad Meeks-Martin), and Jasmin Savoy Brown (Mindy Meeks-Martin). Also set to join the franchise for the first time are Isabel May, Joel McHale, Anna Camp, Mark Consuelos, Ethan Embry, Asa Germann, Mckenna Grace, Celeste O’Connor, and Sam Rechner.
