Seeso renews The UCB Show, picks up documentary about improv icon Del Close

NBC comedy streaming service Seeso made its first renewal back in April, picking up reality spoof Bajillion Dollar Properties for a second season. Now, as further proof of its dedication to hip humor, Seeso has also renewed The UCB Show, the sketch and stand-up showcase from improv masters Amy Poehler, Matt Walsh, Ian Roberts, and Matt Besser of the Upright Citizens Brigade. We don’t know any specific funny people who will pop up in the show’s second season, but Deadline says that filming just started this weekend at the Del Close Improv Comedy Marathon in New York, so some of the people there will probably make an appearance.

Also, in proper “yes, and” fashion, Seeso has taken that premise and carried it further by also picking up a documentary titled Thank You Del: The Story Of The Del Close Marathon. The film celebrates the legacy of improv comedy icon Del Close, and it reportedly features Louis C.K., Nick Kroll, Michael Cera, Sasheer Zamata, Mike Birbiglia, Adam McKay, and others. Like The UCB Show, it’ll be available exclusively on Seeso.
