Netflix is making a Sesame Street movie, which is nice

Sesame Street is no stranger to feature-length fare (Follow That Bird remains a three-hankie weepie), and a new film has been in various stages of development for years. It takes us back to those whirlwind days when Chance The Rapper and Anne Hathaway were kicking around the idea of co-starring in a film version of the beloved educational children’s series when its rights belonged to Warner Bros. That film would have been directed by Portlandia‘s Jonathan Krisel and featured songs written by Bo Burnham, both of whom are no longer attached to the project. Whether this is a good or bad thing may depend on how nostalgic you are for the year 2020. At any rate, here’s an opportunity to boost Sesame Street‘s cast with some serious box office cachet. How about casting Daniel Craig as Big Bird?
