Given that the actual music on Sir Michael Rocks’ new track, “Perfect,” is fairly chippy and pixilated, it makes perfect sense that the accompanying video (which The A.V. Club is premiering below) is video game-centric. According to the onetime Cool Kids member, the clip grew out of the song’s “droning synth lines with hard-hitting hood bass and 808s,” as well as “the ‘Perfect’ sample from the famous Street Fighter video game series.” That game features prominently in the clip, which finds Sir Michael hovering over and around those legendary gi-wearing martial artists.
