Introducing Endless Mode: A New Games & Anime Site from Paste
Television’s stinkiest spy is returning for another round of English espionage. Slow Horses, the critically acclaimed Emmy and BAFTA award-winning series, will make its way back to Apple TV+ for a fifth season this fall. Based on Mick Herron’s London Rules, appropriately the fifth novel in the author’s book series, the six-episode new season will premiere on September 24, 2025, with two episodes.
The new season sees Slough House suspicious of IT grunt Roddy Ho’s (Christopher Chung) glamorous new girlfriend, because she’s a hottie and he’s a nottie. Meanwhile, Slough House, led by the gassy Jackson Lamb (Gary Oldman), investigates increasingly bizarre incidents around London. As for the London Rules, there’s really only one: Cover your arse.
For The A.V. Club, writer John DeVore praised the last season of Slow Horses. “This season sticks to the formula that makes Slow Horses a dependably entertaining ride, including Oldman’s Jackson sucking on cancer sticks and the U.K.’s tactical security forces failing, time and time again, to defeat Slough House, the Bad News Bears of the intelligence community,” DeVore wrote. “As always, Slow Horses has very little fat, and each episode zips.”
The show returns on September 24 on Apple TV+.
