Sony’s State of Play Japan stream just wrapped up, and to be honest, there wasn’t a ton new shown off: it was largely made up of DLC reveals. That said, there were a few notable reveals, including the release date for the upcoming Fatal Frame II remake, a second Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls beta, and the official reveal for Elden Ring Nightreign‘s upcoming DLC.
Let’s run down everything that was announced.
Additionally, there was a trailer for the next game in the series (they’re really making these at a breakneck pace), BrokenLore Ascend, which follows a pair of climbers attempting to score photos for social media before a yokai appears.
The game’s battle system has been revamped to allow for things like applying filters and zoom to your camera. It also features more realistic graphics, as you would expect.
Once Upon A Katamari Gets DLC
The latest Katamari Demacy game, Once Upon A Katamari, is getting two DLC packs. The first is Katamari Demacy Series Dance Dance Remixes, and it’s a Dance Dance Revolution spoof, while the second is Katamari Demacy Series Neo Remixes. The packs come with song remixes and ten accessories in each DLC.
Sonic the Hedgehog Coming To Pac-Man World 2: Re-Pac
In a SEGA crossover, Sonic is on his way to Pac-Man World 2: Re-Pac. He will appear alongside some very Sonic-flavored stages that feature rings, long rails to grind, and Eggman. It’s out on PS4 and PS5 today.
Digimon Story: Time Stranger DLC Shown
Digimon Story: Time Stranger‘s first DLC as part of its season pass is out soon, with a new chapter that features five unique Digimon alongside a new story. It’s called Episode 1 Pack: Alternate Dimension, and it’s slated for this winter.
Monster Hunter Wilds Free Title Update 4 Release Date Announced
Monster Hunter Wilds is getting a new update that includes the Giant Halberd Dragon Gogmazios, alongside additions to the endgame content and seasonal events. It’s out on December 16.
SpongeBob is Coming to Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds
From Magic: the Gathering to Sonic, SpongeBob has been getting around as of late. Next, he’s coming to the cart racer Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds on November 20
Never Grave: The Witch and the Curse Gets Trailer
Never Grave: The Witch and the Curse, a 2D action platformer, got a trailer showcasing its battles, Metroid-inspired world design, roguelike gameplay, and more. It’s out March 5, 2026, on PS4 and PS5.
BlazBlue Entropy Effect X Announced
BlazBlue lives, but not as a fighting game. We saw gameplay for BlazBlue Entropy Effect X, a remix of the action roguelike spin-off, which came out last year. The new version of the game is out February 12 on PS5.
Action RPG From Disgaea Devs Revealed
The team behind the Disgaea series is working on a new action RPG called Kyouran Makaism. Here, the protagonist can turn defeated enemies into Familiars or weapons. The game seems to take place in the Disgaea universe. It’s coming out January 29, 2026.
Hero Shooter Fate Trigger Gets Trailer
Fate Trigger is an upcoming hero shooter (mostly) starring anime girls. There are ten playable characters, including one that uses clones and another that is a cat with a robot. It’s set for Q1 2026.
Octopath Traveler 0 Trailer Previews Villains
The upcoming RPG Octopath Traveler 0 got a trailer that showcased its turn-based battles and various big bads, including a fake hero and an evil actor man. We also got a look at its town building elements. The game’s demo was released today and it previews the first 3 hours. Your save will carry over to the full game, which is out on December 4.
Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls Gets Second Closed Beta Test
Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls is getting a closed beta test, which will run from December 5 to 7. It will add Spider-Man and Ghost Rider to the roster, alongside an X-Men-themed stage.
Beyond this, the developers were interviewed, and they discussed how the game combines Arc System Works’ signature style with classic Marvel characters. They also talked about how they went with the Robbie Reyes version of Ghost Rider instead of Johnny Blaze. The game is slated for next year.
Elden Ring Nightreign: The Forsaken Hollows Announced
Elden Ring Nightreign’s first DLC got a trailer that showed off some familiar characters and bosses from their previous games, like Artorias, alongside allusions to the Dreglord, who seems to be the add-on’s new final boss. It’s out on December 4.
Everything Else Shown
We got another trailer for inKONBINI, a cozy game set in a Japanese convenience store. It’s slated for April 2026.
The barista-based VN Coffee Talk Tokyo got a trailer, alongside a March 5, 2026 release date.
MotionRec was shown, a 2D platformer where you use video playback-based gimmicks to navigate levels. It’s set for Spring 2026.
Wandering Sword is a tactical RPG set in ancient China with an HD-2D art style. It’s out May 28, 2026.
No Sleep For Kamane Date- From AI Somnium Files is coming to PlayStation 4 and 5, alongside new features. It’s releasing on the platform on February 26, 2026.
Tokyo Extreme Racer is returning to PlayStation for the first time in 20 years on February 26, 2026.
Super Robot Wars Y is getting DLC, with characters from Galactic Whirlwind Bryger, Big O, and Futo PI: Portrait of Kamen Rider Skull.
ArcSystem Works’ Damon and Baby was shown once again. It’s a twin stick shooter about carrying around a baby. It has an Early 2026 release window.
