Square Enix's Tetsuya Nomura Says the Final Fantasy VII Remake's Development Is Humming Along

In an interview with the Japanese magazine Dengeki PlayStation (translated by Godplanner for KHInsider), Nomura answers a lot of questions about exactly what Kingdom Hearts 3 is and he delves a bit into Final Fantasy VII. According to Nomura, there has been a lot of misinformation and overreaction online about the status and existence of the Final Fantasy VII remake and he goes on to say that development is coming along well. He says that the reason for the lack of information and showings regarding the absurdly hyped remake is that the team, and Square Enix itself, is prioritizing the release of Kingdom Hearts 3. Square Enix has marketing priorities and the Final Fantasy VII remake is not one of their current priorities—marketing-wise, at least—at the moment.

He ends the interview by asking fans to remain calm and patient in regard to the Final Fantasy VII remake as his team is shifting back towards that, now that development has begun to wind down on Kingdom Hearts 3.
