Stanley Tucci won’t do a Devil Wears Prada sequel, is totally down for Transformers 5
Welcome to The Tour Of Tucci, The A.V. Club’s regular round-up of all the hottest news concerning everybody’s favorite bald guy with glasses who is named Stanley Tucci. This week, the Tour will be making stops at one of Tucci’s most-beloved film roles and one that we didn’t remember any details about until we looked it up, along with the usual selection of Tucci Fun Facts. As Stanley Tucci might say when he’s ready to get something started: On with the show!
First up is The Devil Wears Prada, which apparently will never be getting the sequel that fans have been clamoring for since 2006—at least if Tucci has anything to say about it. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter at the Deauville Film Festival (which recently gave him a lifetime achievement award), Tucci said that a Devil Wears Prada sequel is “never going to happen” even though stars Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt have suggested they’d be up for it. Tucci says the film was his favorite role of his career, and that the whole movie was “perfect in every way,” but he says “sometimes it’s best just to leave things.”
