Rhea Seehorn offers Owen Wilson a mulligan in this first look at Stick season 2

With shades of a less-feisty Kingpin, the first season of the Apple TV comedy series Stick saw Owen Wilson’s washed-up golf pro, Pryce Cahill, take a second swing at life by coaching Santi, a young prodigy played by Peter Dager. Generation-gap yuks and mush-hearted family drama guided their story along the fairway. And while season one wasn’t quite a hole-in-one, we hear that pulling off an ace is very hard to do, even for a gee-whiz golf show as affable as Stick.

But, as the Jason Keller-created series is so keen to remind us, life can be generous with its mulligans. So here comes Stick season two, in which Cahill uses the momentum of his success mentoring Santi to parlay a potential comeback. His journey of professional rediscovery—mastering what truly matters in sports and life and perhaps learning to accept his shortcomings and limitations—will presumably include quite a few social gaffes and non-sequiturs to pad out the laughs. And Stick returns with a serious ringer to help Wilson with his swing: Pluribus and Better Call Saul‘s Rhea Seehorn, who joins the cast as Cahill’s new golf coach.

Seehorn joins series regulars Peter Dager, Marc Maron, Mariana Treviño, Lilli Kay, Judy Greer, and Timothy Olyphant, with John Higgins (SNL), Rex Linn (Young Sheldon), Sasha Alexander (NCIS), Missi Pyle (Galaxy Quest), and Billy Zane (you know who Billy Zane is) also joining the cast.

Stick season two will premiere with two episodes on December 30, with new episodes dropping weekly thereafter. You can enjoy the first-look images below.
