Suge Knight reportedly involved in deadly hit-and-run
Earlier tonight, Suge Knight was reportedly involved in a hit-and-run incident that has left one person dead and two other people injured. That’s according to TMZ, which says Knight got into a fight with multiple people at a movie shoot, and when he got into his car to leave, he “gunned it” in reverse, hit a man, and then drove off. That victim—who TMZ identifies as Terry Carter, a friend of Knight’s—later died. The Hollywood Reporter says the shoot was for Straight Outta Compton, the upcoming NWA biopic, and Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, and The Game were all apparently at the scene. One of the other men hit was Cle Sloane, an actor who has appeared in Training Day and End Of Watch, and both he and the yet-unnamed other person are in the hospital with “non-life-threatening injuries.”
TMZ says Knight’s lawyer is currently “arranging for his client’s surrender” to the police, but it doesn’t seem like he has been officially charged with anything—be it manslaughter or whatever. Interestingly, TMZ theorizes that the police might not find him legally responsible at all if they decide that he “fled out of fear for his life.” Knight’s lawyer also “confirmed the incident” to Billboard, though he’s “waiting for a preliminary investigation for more information” before he says anything else about it. At the very least, though, the lawyer’s comments do seem to make it official that Knight was involved in Terry Carter’s death, whatever the police determine the circumstances to be.
