The CW’s decision to renew its entire 2015-16 lineup (Don’t tell Beauty And The Beast!) was a boon to the people who make CW shows—and a headache for those who schedule them. Things only grew more complicated once Supergirl declared its intent to relocate the offices of CatCo Worldwide Media, reducing the available primetime real estate on The CW to nine hours.
So while that CW show you like is coming back for another season, you might have to wait a few meteorological seasons to see it. The 100, iZombie, The Originals, and Reign are taking the fall off, freeing up space for The Last Daughter of Krypton, the apocalyptic rom-com No Tomorrow, and an adaptation of the “Field Of Dreams but with ham radios” thriller Frequency. Placing a DC anchor at 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday sets up a four-way crossover between Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow, and Legends Of Tomorrow, but it also boots season-two of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend to Fridays. Genre stalwarts Supernatural and The Vampire Diaries round out the schedule, the former having lasted longer than either of the two networks that merged to become The CW. Following last week’s pickups, the network has been advised to stay out of Riverdale until midseason.
