Tears For Fears cancel remaining tour dates with Hall And Oates after “family emergency”
One of this summer’s many nostalgia tours involved Tears For Fears opening up for Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame inductees Daryl Hall and John Oates. In the show some of us saw when the tour hit Chicago, TFF, frankly, wiped the floor with the famous blue-eyed soul duo, as Curt Smith and Roland Orzabal were obviously exuberant to be playing in front of a large, aging stadium crowd, delighting with a cover of Radiohead’s “Creep.” As their set neared its end, Smith joked, “You know what song we’re going to play,” and capped it all off with a rousing version of “Shout.” Hall And Oates sounded like a cruise ship outfit in comparison, but maybe the veteran band was just having an off night.
