Temuera Morrison, a.k.a. Jango Fett, to play Aquaman’s dad

Actor Temuera Morrison, best known for his role as Boba Fett’s dad Jango Fett (and all his various clones) in the Star Wars saga, has been cast in the upcoming Aquaman film. Continuing his track record of playing the pater familias to cinematic badasses, Morrison will portray Aquaman’s dad, Thomas Curry, a fisherman and lighthouse keeper who manages to catch the attention of undersea princess Atlanna (Nicole Kidman).

This isn’t actually Morrison’s first time playing a DC Comics character; he briefly took on the role of Abin Sur (a.k.a., the alien who gives Hal Jordan his ring, and then immediately dies) in Ryan Reynolds’ poorly regarded Green Lantern. His other recent roles include the British murder mystery miniseries Tatau, and a co-starring role in Disney’s Moana.
