That strong as hell kangaroo may be getting his own statue
In the pantheon of interesting looking animals that have gone viral, none is so buff as the kangaroo named Roger from Alice Springs, Australia. Weighing just under 200 pounds and standing at 6.5 feet tall on his hind legs, Roger first gained fame after appearing on the BBC series Kangaroo Dundee. Since then, his incredibly ripped upper body and ability to crush metal buckets has been the inspiration for numerous memes and, more than likely, some posters in gym locker rooms. In order to cement his fame in the annals of internet animal history, a local shopping center has proposed erecting a statue of Roger in all his swole-as-hell glory.
“Roger has recently been recognized as one of the 10 most famous animals in the world,” said Chris ‘Brolga’ Barns in an interview with NT News. Brolga is the man who raised Roger at the Kangaroo Sanctuary Alice Springs since rescuing him as a joey 12 years ago and presumably teaching him proper weight training exercises. “I think it would be great to recognize him by putting a statue of him in the Todd Mall.”
Ah, yes. Nothing says, “Let’s go shopping,” like a life-sized bronze likeness of an incredibly yoked kangaroo. Godspeed, Roger. Your legacy is intact.
