Peachfuzz expands his gnarly canon in The Creep Tapes season three trailer

Horror movie franchises making a successful leap to television is a wonderful, welcome phenomenon. It’s the routine of pursuit, capture, and calamity that makes slashers and monsters fit so well into episodic TV, but as examples such as Ash Vs. Evil Dead, Chucky, and Hannibal have proven, personality goes a long way, too. That’s why The Creep Tapes is one of horror’s most successful franchise expansions: Mark Duplass’s Peachfuzz killer is a compelling, friendly, eerily seductive fiend whose methods of mayhem—taping and then archiving the slaughter of his victims, who are lured into his traps by charisma or tyranny of will—make for a structurally sound horror anthology.

The Creep Tapes also consistently boasts interesting guest stars who play Peachfuzz’s victims as either oblivious lambs led to slaughter or as emotional and psychological foils for our mercurial killer, making each installment of the Shudder series feel unpredictable and fresh. As this new trailer shows, season three will be no different, featuring comedian Chris Gethard, Elliott Fullam (the Terrifier series), Nicholas Hamilton (It Chapter One), and Kate Siegel (Midnight Mass). As Peachfuzz expands his repertoire into New York City, each of these poor folks, and at least three tapes’ worth more, will be pulled into Peachfuzz’s sick, perverse, analog world. As his human alter ego disarms them with Duplassian earthiness and charm, we know the killer wolf lurking within is licking his chops. It’s killer TV.

The Creep Tapes season three hits Shudder on September 15. Watch the trailer now:
