The fake trailer for True Detective season two is actually quite reassuring

Now that Vince Vaughn and Colin Farrell have locked down lead roles in True Detective next season, the time and energy the Internet has spent musing over potential casting choices must be directed elsewhere.

Musing over what the second season of True Detective will look like is certainly one option, and Vulture has done just that with a fake trailer that combines footage of Farrell and Vaughn doing badass stuff like a bunch of cool guys to create a hypothetical look at the show we’re all going to obsess over next year. (Even more than we are now, of course.)

The video was posted before today’s announcement that Rachel McAdams has been offered the lead female role, but it shouldn’t be too difficult to work some footage from The Notebook in there.
