The Game Of Thrones cast is making, like, Friends money now

The Game Of Thrones cast certainly earns its paychecks, what with being attacked by frenzied Spaniards and having to pose for pictures with babies named Khaleesi and everything. But they are compensated richly for their troubles, even more so now that the cast has reportedly secured a “huge” raise for the show’s upcoming fifth and sixth seasons, as well as options for a seventh season. This will make them among the highest-paid actors in cable TV, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Much as in the feudal system employed in their fictional homeland of Westeros, the raises are not being distributed equally. The cast is reportedly divided up into “tiers,” with such noble lords and ladies as Kit Harington, Peter Dinklage, Lena Headey, Emilia Clarke, and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau commanding the highest salaries and biggest raises in the “A” tier. Younger and less prominent cast members like Natalie Dormer, Sophie Turner, and Maisie Williams are in the ”B” tier and will get middling raises, while the filthy peasants making up the lowest tier will receive significantly smaller raises, and should be glad that they are not beheaded and paraded around as human puppets for the “A” tier’s amusement. (Sean Bean and Ser Pounce, meanwhile, will have to find some other source of income.)

The actual dollar and/or gold dragon amount of the raises and subsequent salaries for the cast has not been made public, but we assume they will have no problem affording ugly Christmas sweaters for the company holiday party this year.
