If 2017's taught us anything, it’s that you can generally count on the haters to ultimate bring home the win. So it’s with a noted lack of surprise that we report—courtesy of Deadline—that Netflix has officially pulled the plug on YouTube sensation Miranda Sings’ two-season comedy series Haters Back Off.
The series starred comedian Colleen Ballinger as Miranda, a delusional would-be viral star attempt to navigate the most meager-possible trappings of fame with the help of her mom (The Office’s Angela Kinsey) and manager uncle (The Grinder’s Steve Little). The streaming service renewed the series for a second season last year—adding Upright Citizens Brigade co-founder Matt Besser into the mix as Miranda’s dirtbag dad—but decided to pull the plug after two. (Meanwhile, with 8 million-plus subscribers, the Miranda Sings YouTube channel remains one of the most popular on the service.)
