Pitchfork reports that the indie rockers of The National are putting their money where their mouths are, with the band announcing that it’ll be donating all of the profits from its online store—dating back to Black Friday—to a number of liberal causes, including Planned Parenthood, the ACLU, Democracy Now!, and the Southern Poverty Law Center. The band made the announcement via Twitter today, releasing a statement calling for action and warning that “Civil liberties are not set in stone.”
Frontman Matt Berninger was an outspoken supporter of Hillary Clinton during the recent election, telling reporters he was “a little bit in love” with the candidate. The band played one of Clinton’s final rallies during the campaign. Berninger also—via one of his other bands, El Vy—penned an anti-Trump song during the election, as part of Dave Eggers’ 30 Days, 30 Songs project.
