The Red Hot Chili Peppers announce 2017 tour dates

The Red Hot Chili Peppers have had a big summer, what with the band releasing a new album (The Getaway), frontman Anthony Kiedis getting some kind of stomach illness, and Flea receiving the great honor of being named Koko the gorilla’s favorite bass player. Now, with those shenanigans behind them, the Chili Peppers are getting ready to go on another proper North American arena tour, announcing a string of dates for early next year.
This comes from Rolling Stone, which says musician Trombone Shorty and his backing band Orleans Avenue will serve as the openers for all of the dates, with former Chili Peppers drummer Jack Irons joining the band for its shows in January. Unfortunately, there’s no word if Koko the gorilla will make any special appearances—the organization that takes care of her teased “future collaborations” when she met Flea—but they’d probably save that for a surprise, anyway.
The video for the Chili Peppers’ “Go Robot” is below, along with the full list of tour dates.
