The Simpsons renewed for 26th season, where something happens and doo doo doo doo doo
As it enters its record-breaking 25th season as the longest-running primetime scripted show in American TV history, The Simpsons figures what’s one more, really, with Fox announcing today that it’s already been picked up for season 26. Deadline reports that the voice cast—whose renewed commitment has been the only potential stumbling block in the past—are all reportedly on board, giving the show’s producers one more year to record them saying every single word in the English language, so they can just splice together the dialogue necessary to keep the show going long after they, and we, are all dead. (“Mmmm, sesquipedalian,” Homer will say at some point next year, mark our words.) Anyway, this means that The Simpsons is well on its way to turning 30, at which point it’ll start complaining about how much it hates The Simpsons now.
