The Social Network returning to theaters as a reminder that it's eligible for awards
What with Oscar season approaching, how can the producers of The Social Network possibly hope to remind Academy voters of the film’s eligibility for awards, despite the fact that it’s either already won or been nominated in every single Best Picture category from every single critical body or industry guild in existence, including ones we just made up, like the Furtive Movie Theater Texters Who Should Just Fucking Go Out To The Lobby If They’re Going To Do That of America? By bringing it back to theaters, of course, which they will do on around 600 screens nationwide this Friday, a few days before its release on DVD. As a bonus, this week the film will also surpass $200 million at the box office. Maybe now it’ll finally get a little recognition.
