Sarah Wayne Callies’ onscreen association with the supernatural and Nicolas Cage’s onscreen association with losing children will come together at last in the upcoming Pay The Ghost. The thriller takes place in New York City, where Cage’s son disappears during a Halloween parade. However, instead of being kidnapped by mobsters who may cause Cage’s character to revert to a criminal past, as one might expect, this time it’s a “vicious and vengeful ghost that surfaces each Halloween to abduct children” who’s to blame. Callies will play Cage’s estranged wife and “whip-smart environmental attorney” whose help he enlists to find their son before the child forever disappears into the spirit realm. Pay The Ghost is set to begin filming in Toronto next month.
