Hugh Laurie is The Wanted Man in first look at Apple TV series

Hugh Laurie’s been a doctor, a politician, an arms dealer, and now he’ll be a wanted man. This morning, Apple TV released a first look at its new series The Wanted Man, starring and executive produced by Laurie. The series, which comes from creator, writer, and showrunner George Kay—who’s about to have his show War premiere on HBO and who previously worked with Apple for Hijack—debuts on Apple TV next year.

An official synopsis for The Wanted Man reads:

When organized crime boss Felix Carmichael (Laurie) is betrayed by someone inside his own firm and sent to the notorious Staplehurst Prison, he’s forced to remember his own brutality to fight for survival. With his family, firm and fortune at stake, Felix resolves to do the unthinkable: escape.

Laurie stars in the series with Thandiwe Newton, Fionn Whitehead, Gina McKee, Hazel Doupe, Elliott Heffernan, and Stephen Dillane. The first two episodes premiere on Apple TV on Wednesday, January 6, 2027, with new episodes rolling out weekly through February 17. Take a peek at some first-look images below.
