The Writers Guild releases annual list of movies it's officially allowed to like
The nominations are already in from the Screen Actors and Producers Guilds, which means it's time for the Writers Guild to also offer its opinions, in typical screenwriter fashion, now that no one's really listening anymore. As with every year, films are chosen based on the strength of their screenplay—namely, screenplays that went through the formal WGA development and submission process, as the writer's innate need to engineer their own marginalization from the rest of society extends even to handing out awards, apparently.
